Event Details

Welcome back! It's time to head for the hills again this year for Kiss The Sky July 26-28, 2019 in Aspen, Colorado. If you've played here then you know and if you haven't, read carefully. The Kiss The Sky Course plays at 11,212 feet at the top of Aspen Mountain. We are at the mercy of the weather and the gondola. The reason we play just one round per day is that the rounds take a while. This is not a normal round of golf as we play up and down the top portion of Aspen Ski Area. It's as much a hike in the mountains as it is a round of disc golf. So that means be prepared! Sunscreen (you're closer to the sun), Water (you need more than normal), Weather (anything can happen very fast), Shoes (have good supportive footwear). Even though the morning may look good you still need protection. Weather can come in fast and hard.

Play needs to proceed in a timely manner because the gondola closes at 4:30 pm. That's the last ride down and you probably don't want to walk down. We provide lunches on the mountain that you will pick up as you play your round and eat as you play your round. One big happy picnic. The field is one of the biggest we've had so it will be important to work together looking for discs and in some cases leave the looking for later when you know there's more time. We will go over some of the special rules we use on this course at the player meeting.

Lift Tickets

This is not limited to just competitors so bring your significant other and let them have fun too. We will provide more details on lift tickets as we have them. In the past this will be a discounted 3-day pass with other amenities.

New this year we will add an incredible One Hole Event. 2.5 Miles, 3000 feet vertical descent, 4+ hours down Aspen Mountain to the base of the gondola. This has been done before but never as an official part of the Kiss The Sky. Tentative start time will be 2pm.   There will be a separate entry for this event and not limited players in the main competition.

General guidelines for Saturday and Sunday

  • 8am - Player Package Pick-Up: By the Base of the Silver Queen Gondola (remember to check your starting hole #)
  • 9am - Player Meeting: Also be at the base of the gondola.
  • 9:30am - 10am - Gondola Loading: Depending on when it gets started. You will go directly to your holes and wait for the starting shouts to begin play.

Generally we try to have lunch available at the Gazebo around Hole #1 by 11:30am each day. That means the next hole you play close to that you pick up your lunch and continue on to the next hole. Typically you have some wait times anyway on some of the long downhills and that allows you a chance to grab a bite or two.

Additional Links

Lunch will be provided for all players during your round.

The course layout will be the same or very similar to that of 2017
Awards will take place as soon as we get the final tallies for Disc Golf. Typically we hold the awards at the base of the gondola.
