This disc was one of the early Ultra-Star flying discs from Discraft. Prior to the 1983 rings patent that Wham-O held expiring, Discraft had this version of the Ultra-Star. Although it had a following amongst some core players, it was assumed that the disc had to have rings to gain the ultimate popularity. As soon as the rings were added the disc soon became the favorite disc in the ultimate playing community. This was the original Ultra-Star Stock logo design.
