This disc was one of the early Ultra-Star flying discs from Discraft. Prior to
the 1983 rings patent that Wham-O held expiring, Discraft had this version of
the Ultra-Star. Although it had a following amongst some core players, it was
assumed that the disc had to have rings to gain the ultimate popularity. As soon
as the rings were added the disc soon became the favorite disc in the ultimate
playing community. Not really sure when this particular stamp version came out.
May have pre-dated the star version. The type around the ring doesn't look like
something that was used very much.
