Before there was beveled edged discs and a zillion different models
of golf plastic, there was the Night Flyer and the Midnight Flyer.
Wham-O discovered by injecting glow plastic in their original Frisbee flying disc
molds that
the discs became much heavier and thus flew further. The numbers were
like numbers they put on golf balls to help players distinguish each
others discs on the course because they all looked the same. This very rare midnight
Flyer golf disc
has Disc Golf Association hot-stamp with no indication of Wham-O on the disc except
for the raised letters on the underside. The copy write is
1979. As the story goes, Wham-O had to change the
name from Night Flyer because someone else had the trademark. This is the
original 50 mold. This disc mold was sold in stores
as the World Class 141 gram disc. 156.4 grams is what is written on masking tape
on the underside of this disc. This disc is in mint condition, Only one available.
