This disc is mint in package but the packaging is not mint. Pluto Platters were
demonstrated in the Better
Living Paviolion at the 1964 World's Fair in NYC, and sold in Wham-O's newly developed
packaging (shrink-wrapped disc on a printed card) with a specially printed paper
insert.
This is a collection of some of the first and most unique flying discs ever manufactured.
From the collection of Joel Rogers these discs are priced according to condition
and rarity of the disc. With the recent passing of Walter Fred Morrison we felt
it was timely to present and display the progression of flying disc history from
a manufacturing standpoint. This particular section are all discs from the original
Pipco mold which produced the first plastic flying discs in 1948. Although these
discs have been researched thoroughly we are always interested in new information.
The majority of our information comes from Phil Kennedy's book
"Flat Flip Flies Straight".
