This is a listing from an incredible Sky-Styler collection that we are displaying
and making available for purchase. This is the collection of Brian Hayes of the
original Flying Aces freestyle Disc demonstration team. Many of these discs are only available as singles. These discs are in incredible unused and preserved
condition. Most are in mint condition unless otherwise noted. Some are extremely
rare. The Sky-Styler has been the disc of choice for freestylers since 1983 for
sure. The Coloradicals were the first major team to completely switch to using
the Styler over the Wham-O lid. This was around 1980. As Sky-Styler history goes
there are 4 variations in the mold from when
it was first produced in 1979. The 1st period Sky-Stylers are extremely rare.
I've never seen one sold and know of only a handful out there. The 2nd period
Sky-Stylers have a thin ring on to of the disc with no raised lettering. These
were produced from 1979-1981 The 3rd period Sky-Stylers have a wider ring with
no raised lettering. These were just produced for a short period in 1982 as far
as I can tell. The 4th period Sky-Stylers added the raised lettering on top of
the wide ring. Some time in 1982 they added that to the mold and thats how it
exists today.
This is the first of the original molds that I will be listing. This disc has
been in my possession for nearly 30 years. On the top photo you can notice that
there is not a ring that is typical on most stylers. Instead there is a trough
that the letters are printed within. This disc is very rare and until this collection
I've only known of a few still exist. This particular disc is in fantastic mint
condition.
