So I've heard a lot of talk about how Innova is stealing the overmold concept from MVP discs, but I'd have to say this disc is entirely different than their models. If it's close to any other disc out there, I'd say the buzzz. It flies a lot like a buzzz, with maybe less high speed turn, and less low speed fade. The end result is that if you grip lock or throw too high, it will typically wind up being a pretty manageable lye anyway. On drives if released dead flat, it will go dead straight. I have a 180 atlas which feels even heavier than that, which can wear out your arm. The plastic feels great, the rim is a nice grippy/chalky plastic, and would be a go to for wet conditions. Overall its a good disc, especially for a beginner.
In a re-imagining of the way they've been making golf discs, Innova's Atlas is their first disc release featuring a combination of different plastics to provide certain traits only where needed. This provides an end product similar to the MVP line of discs. For instance, the gummy rim provides great grip and sticks when it finds chains, and the flight plate is made firm to add consistency.
This is the true "first run" version of the Atlas--featuring the large star stamp. Get yours to throw or collect before they're gone!
